Take Action
When others see a need in our communities, we see an opportunity to act. Take Action is a movement of people who believe faith should do more than inspire within the church walls. It must interrupt cycles, rebuild lives and provoke real change in our neighborhoods.
What began as a call from Pastor Keion Henderson to serve has grown into a powerful network of people putting faith to work for over 15 years. Through the generosity of over 50 members and organizations, Take Action has given more than $788,000 in the past year alone, transforming lives through scholarships, business grants, rental assistance, and community restoration.

Since 2009
- Distributing thousands of pounds of food to underserved communities through quarterly anti-hunger campaigns in partnership with Humble Area Assistance Ministry & Food Bank
- Feeding families and rebuilding neighborhoods after crisis (Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Beryl and COVID-19)
- Providing life planning and medical resources for families in need (funeral assistance, utility and housing relief, prosthetic limbs)
- Bringing joy to children and families with games, gifts and entertainment at the Annual Easter Community Outreach

- Investing $100k in small business grants at Cry Out Con

- Caring for our elders through community landscaping initiatives
- Empowering the next generation through scholarship and collegiate book grants

- Restoring national parks and public spaces, beginning with Rees Park in Gary, Indiana

Pastor Keion recognized that preaching one day a week is powerful, but many people need more accountability. Take Action was born out of his vision to bridge the gap between motivation and movement.
The digital series extends his Sunday ministry throughout the week by equipping people with biblical strategies, a winning mindset, and the online community they need to think better, live better and create lasting impact.
